Bardo Varstep

A 4 track power electronics/noise ep (1h 2m 34s) — released April 4th 2011 on Noecho

Bardo.Vertep. is Ivan's fourth album and the second for NoEcho records. The idea was to make linear photographic music. Andrei Tarkovsky defined film as sculpting in time. The music on this album attempts the opposite process, reducing a series of impressions to inner image - to inner "photograph". The first piece titled EXP. Bardo. Vertep. was inspired by Olga Tokarczuk's story from her book "Gra na wielu bebenkach" (Playing on Many Drums). The second and third pieces were inspired by places along the railroad from Belgrade to Subotica. The final piece, EXP. Moja pesma ce ti biti smesna is longer and a rearanged version of music recorded in 2008 for a short film by Milica Jovcic. The only instrument used on this album is electric guitar, with sound being processed through effect pedals.
